Project Serpo

Project Serpo is the name given to what is said to have been a top-secret exchange between the United States government and an alien planet nicknamed Serpo.

According to the most common version of the story, an alien survived a crash near Roswell in the later 1940s. This alien (likely a "Grey" alien) was detained but treated well by American military forces, contacted its home planet and eventually repatriated. The story continues by claiming that this led to the establishment of some sort of relationship between the American government and the people of its home world – said to be a planet of the binary star system Zeta Reticuli.

Zeta Reticuli

USAF Sergeant Richard C. Doty contacted investigative journalist Linda Moulton Howe claiming to be able to supply her Air Force records of the exchange for her HBO documentary "The ET Factor" in the early 1980s, only to pull out without providing any evidence to substantiate his story. There was another incident in 2005 when a series of emails were sent to a UFO discussion group claiming that the project was real.

Some stories go as far to claim that military personnel actually visited the planet between 1968 and 1973. It's likely that fake military communications were deliberately leaked as a hoax by the US military. The reason is to fuel conspiracy stories, leading UFO enthusiasts astray while concealing real projects of a similar nature. Why leak any information? Because some have come forward with pieces of possibly true accounts. Filling this in with vast, fake intelligence mires it all in a sea of skepticism.

The Zeta Reticuli Star System

According to many who study UFO phenomena, Zeta Reticuli is home to an alien civilization known as the "Greys". Greys are described in 75% of reported abductions in the United States, 25% in Europe (Europe tends to be a hotspot for "Nordic" aliens, a group of tall, benevolent humanoids. They are believed to be from the Pleiades system and aim to help the human race.) The Greys have unknown, possibly sinister ambitions. Greys likely view humans as lesser than themselves, in the way we view animals. They are responsible for abduction stories such as kidnapping, experimentation and implantation.

Betty and Barney Hill were abducted in 1964, probably the most famous abduction story in history. Betty, under hypnosis, drew a star map she claimed the aliens showed her. It was from the perspective of their home star. It showed surrounding stars, including our sun. Schoolteacher and astronomer Marjorie Fish created a map and believed the best match from the perspective Betty Hill drew was the Zeta Reticuli star system.

Zeta Reticuli in relation to our Sun (Sol)

The stars, designated ζ1 Reticuli and ζ2 Reticuli, are both yellow dwarf (main sequence) stars remarkably similar to our Sun. No close-in giant planets have been detected around either of the components, making Earth-like terrestrial planets possible. However, the stars are only 60% as enriched with metals as the Sun. Small, terrestrial planets around less metal-rich stars are less likely according to our current knowledge. Source: Wikipedia

"Moon Demons"

Hanon-Tramp: German name for a classical type of nightmare. This particular nightmare took the form of a demon that suffocated people during sleep.

Old references to "moon demons", among other names, exist in art and literature. They are said to inhabit the dark side of the moon, and can sometimes take on physical form here on earth. The creatures are considered malevolent, small (about the size of a 7 year-old) pale skinned with large dark eyes. It is said a moon demon can emit such a scream that it will freeze a human or animal alike in terror.

Moon demons are more powerful, and more likely to be seen, during the waning moon.
