Astrology
There are a few terms used by astrologers that divide the influences of the planets that effect normal, everyday life:
Cardinal – Anxious and excitable people.
Fixed – Stable and predictable people.
Mutable – Adaptable, unstable people.
The planets are also divided by the elements:
Air – Talkative, idealistic and unpredictable people.
Fire – Aspiring, passionate and exciting people.
Water – Adaptable and emotional people.
Earth – Limited, dependable and practical people.
Aries, the Ram (March 21 – April 19) is a cardinal, fire sign and is ruled by the planet Mars and is associated with the head. People born under this sign are above all else intellectuals who are very independent and at times sarcastic.
Taurus, the Bull (April 20 – May 20) is a fixed, earth sign and is ruled by Venus and is associated with the neck. People born under this sign are often planners, organized, determined and often stubborn; they do have a lazy streak.
Gemini, the Twins (May 21 – June 21) is a mutable, air sign ruled by Mercury and is associated with the arms. People born under this sign are reluctant, very self-conscious and are often thought of as two-faced.
Cancer, the Crab (June 22 – July 22) is a cardinal, water sign ruled by the Moon and is associated with the chest. People born under this sign are considered homebodies, moody and emotionally insecure.
Leo, the Lion (July 23 – August 22) is a fire, fixed sign ruled by the Sun and is associated with the heart. People born under this sign are seen as egotistical but are often insecure. They are also faithful and materialistic.
Virgo, the Virgin (August 23 – September 22) is a mutable, earth sign ruled by Mercury and associated with the bowels. People born under this sign are slow, social and vain, and may seem prudent but they’re actually promiscuous.
Libra, the Scales (September 23 – October 23) is a cardinal, air sign ruled by Venus and is associated with the back. People born under this sign are mediators, workaholics, and though they are direct they’re often thought of as having no personality.
Scorpio, the Scorpion (October 24 – November 21) is a fixed, water sign ruled by Mars and is associated with the reproductive organs. People born under this sign are secretive, dominant, immoral and sleazy; they are also the most vindictive.
Sagittarius, the Archer (November 22 – December 21) is a mutable, fire sign ruled by Jupiter and is associated with the thighs. People born under this sign are charming and witty, but also blunt and spiteful; they dislike taking orders.
Capricorn, the Goat (December 22 – January 19) is a cardinal, earth sign ruled by Saturn and is associated with the knees. People born under this sign are caring and personable people who have the tendency to overspend.
Aquarius, the Water-carrier (January 20 – February 18) is a fixed, air sign associated with the legs. They are social, groupies but are often detached, flighty and self-centered. They’re often considered heartless because they make split second decisions that harm others.
Pisces, the Fish (February 19 – March 20) is a mutable, water sign ruled by Jupiter and is associated with the feet. People born under this sign seem to be all emotions. They are shallow, inconsistent, unreliable and love to gossip.
